Emirates is to introduce direct flights between Dubai (DXB) terminals 1 and 3.

The service – due to launch next month – will be operated 12 times daily using the airline’s new Boeing 777-300ER, offering eight first class suites, 42 seats in business, and 306 in economy class.

“With this latest addition to our unrivalled network of routes, we will be connecting two of the world’s most important travel destinations,” said Emirates president Tim Clark, adding that there had been “clear demand” for the service from both business and leisure passengers.

Industry insiders expect Emirates to soon announce the launch of its long-rumoured non-stop route between either ends of Dubai terminal 3.

Does this mean they are doing away with the usual 20 minute bus trip? I thought they had opened a new Shindiga terminal as we always stop there first before bus to T3!!

i took this flight yesterday, and have to say it was wonderful. I enjoyed the Business Class service, and had the opportunity to watch half an episode of an old Family Guy. On my return, i’ll watch the second half. We were given a quick look a the menu, and shown a drinks trolley, but sadly no time to enjoy. The trip was marred only by finding out my baggage got lost between terminals, and is currently on the tarmac in Zagreb.
